Jan 2006 God's made us for a purpose
God
made us in his image until sin distorts it. Jesus came to reconcile us to
himself through the Holy Spirit - so we have to move from a spirit form life
to a spirit filled life -praising, singing and worshipping him and
inviting the Ministry of the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues.
Gen
1:1-2
1In
the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2Now the
earth was£
formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the
Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
John
1:1 & 1:10
1In
the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
10He
was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did
not recognize him.
Job
33:13-26
Why
do you complain to him
that he answers none of man’s words£?
14
For God does
speak—now one way, now another—
though man may not perceive it.
15
In a dream, in
a vision of the night,
when deep sleep falls on men
as they slumber in their beds,
16
he may speak
in their ears
and terrify them with warnings,
17
to turn man
from wrongdoing
and keep him from pride,
18
to preserve
his soul from the pit,£
his life from perishing by the sword.£
19
Or a man may
be chastened on a bed of pain
with constant distress in his bones,
20
so that his
very being finds food repulsive
and his soul loathes the choicest meal.
21
His flesh
wastes away to nothing,
and his bones, once hidden, now stick out.
22
His soul draws
near to the pit,£
and his life to the messengers of death.£
23
“Yet if
there is an angel on his side
as a mediator, one out of a thousand,
to tell a man what is right for him,
24
to be gracious
to him and say,
‘Spare him from going down to the pit£;
I have found a ransom for him’—
25
then his flesh
is renewed like a child’s;
it is restored as in the days of his youth.
26
He prays to
God and finds favor with him,
he sees God’s face and shouts for joy;
he is restored by God to his righteous state.

Corinthians 3:18
18And
we, who with unveiled faces all reflect£
the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with
ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
Eph
5:19
9Speak
to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music
in your heart to the Lord,
Acts
2:4
4All
of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues£
as the Spirit enabled them.

Jan 2006 How "wet" do you want
to be ?
We need
to experience a spirit filled life – and enjoy the spiritual rain from
above – when we are filled with the Spirit – there is harvest,
fruitfulness, gladness,
rejoicing, restoration, refreshing and revelation.
ACTS 10:44-46
44While Peter was still speaking these words, the
Holy Spirit came on all who heard the message. 45The circumcised believers who had come
with Peter were astonished that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured
out even on the Gentiles. 46For they heard them speaking in tongues£
and praising God.
Acts 2:33
Exalted to the right hand of God, he has received
from the Father the promised Holy Spirit and has poured
out what you now see and hear.
Zech 12:10
And I will pour out on the house of David
and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit£
of grace and supplication. They will look on£
me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for
an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn
son.
Isaiah 32:15
till the Spirit is poured
upon us from on high, and the desert becomes a fertile field,
and the
fertile field seems like a forest.
Joel
2:23 -28
Be
glad, O people of Zion,
rejoice
in the LORD your God,
for
he has given you
the
autumn rains in righteousness.£
He
sends you abundant showers,
both
autumn and spring rains, as before.
24 The threshing floors will be filled with grain; the vats will overflow with new wine and oil.
25 “I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten—
the great locust and the young locust,
the other locusts and the locust swarm£—
my great army that I sent among you.
26 You will have plenty to eat, until you are full, and you will praise the
name of the LORD your God,
who has worked wonders for you;
never again will my people be shamed.
27 Then you will know that I am in Israel,
that I am the LORD your God,
and that there is no other;
never again will my people be shamed.
28 “And afterward,
I will pour out my Spirit
on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your old men will dream dreams,
your young men will see visions.

Jan 2006 From anointing to character
Anointing
is from God - it is the outward, temporal and direct at once, known by man
and may be withdrawn. Our gifts and talents, speaking in tongues will come
to an end. On the contrary character takes time to develop from the inward
and is known by God and is consistent and last forever. The ultimate
pinnacle of character is love. In the midst of submission to
authority, and of our rights in times of persecutions- character will be
developed .Tracing Samson's life, we see a wonderbaby full of anointing,
growing up in holiness and with supernatural protection- until he violates
God's commands. We need to call out to God Like Samson- in repentence to
reconile- so that God will restore us.
1 Timothy 4:16
16Watch your life and
doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both
yourself and your hearers.
Judges
13:1-5 & 24
1Again the Israelites did evil in the eyes of the LORD, so the LORD
delivered them into the hands of the Philistines for forty years.
2A certain man of Zorah, named Manoah, from the clan of the Danites, had
a wife who was sterile and remained childless. 3The angel of the LORD
appeared to her and said, "You are sterile and childless, but you are
going to conceive and have a son. 4Now see to it that you drink no wine or
other fermented drink and that you do not eat anything unclean, 5because you
will conceive and give birth to a son. No razor may be used on his head,
because the boy is to be a Nazirite, set apart to God from birth, and he
will begin the deliverance of Israel from the hands of the
Philistines."
The woman gave birth
to a boy and named him Samson. He grew and the LORD blessed him,

Corinthians 13:8
8Love never
fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are
tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

Jan 2006 How To be bless ?
We
live in a world that is often deceitful- it is the human nature - so we need
to allow God to step in to remove the deceitful nature -to be freed from
deceit so as to enjoy God 's blessings. We need to cultivate a responsive
heart for the poor- be a vessel of blessings by giving to the poor. The
beginning of blessings is giving- bless the poor and be blessed
Psalm
32:1-2
1 Blessed is he whose transgressions are forgiven,
whose sins are covered.
2 Blessed is the man whose sin the LORD does not count against him
and in whose spirit is no deceit.
Mark 7:21-23
21For from within, out of men’s hearts,
come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, 22greed,
malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. 23All
these evils come from inside and make a man ‘unclean.’"
John 1:47
47When Jesus saw Nathanael approaching, he said of him, "Here
is a true Israelite, in whom there is nothing false."
Isaiah 53:9
He was assigned a grave with the wicked,
and with the rich in his death,
though he had done no violence,
nor was any deceit in his mouth.

and no deceit was found in his mouth."£

the LORD delivers him in times of trouble.
2 The LORD will protect him and preserve his life;
he will bless him in the land
and not surrender him to the desire of his foes.
Luke 12:33
33Sell your possessions and give to the
poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure
in heaven that will not be exhausted, where no thief comes near and no
moth destroys
Acts 20:34
34You yourselves know that these hands of mine have supplied my
own needs and the needs of my companions.
Luke 14:13
13But when you give a banquet, invite the
poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, 14and
you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid
at the resurrection of the righteous."
Luke 6:38
38Give, and it will be given to you. A
good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be
poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured
to you."
